Marshall backs Lolohea fullback switch

Wests Tigers Life Member Benji Marshall believes teammate Tuimoala Lolohea can make a successful switch to fullback after playing the 2017 season at five-eighth.

Marshall was part of the Channel 7 Rugby League World Cup commentary team and, after closely watching the talented Lolohea in the tournament with Tonga, believes he has what it takes to step up and fill the position left by James Tedesco in 2018.

"I think he had an outstanding World Cup," Marshall said of Lolohea.

There was always going to be a lot of pressure around how their halves were going to go.

"But you could see the confidence he took into the World Cup.

"For me he was in their top-two players after Jason (Taumalolo).

"That's exciting for us because I don't think there's many better ball runners in the game than Tui. Hopefully he can bring that back here at Wests Tigers."
